Well, I guess we crossed over to the dark side. Today 21 vets and vols we had a Coffee hour Zoom call. The topics discussed were bass ponds, Silver Lake, and Crystal Lake specifically. Then we got off topic and one person said they had seen some ice fishing going on, that's when it all fell to hell. They started talking about drilling holes and jigging, and how thick the ice is. Thank God we were able to move the conversation to a discussion that included possible upcoming events like Bear's Den and their fly-fishing film show on February 20th. Next, we talked Chatfield Hollow, our first outing of the year in April.

Coming up this week, Fly-Tying
On the bright side, we are meeting to tie flies at the American Legion Hall on next week February 12th 10 until noon. We'll be tying the pheasant tail nymph taught by Antoine and Capt. Bob. You can see a reference picture above, and kind of like we did at the evening tying session, we are going to look for you to draw some of your own materials from what we supply so you can learn the entire tying process. Yes, we will provide you with tool, vices, and material basics, but you will need to select the barbs from the feather. The process will be demonstrated by Antoine and Bob before you start tying on your own, and Bob and Antoine will be providing guidance during the session
Here are some of our crew

It's cold out there, freezing freakin' cold! If you do decide to fish, Please fish with a friend or 2 and dress in plenty of waders. Hypothermia, can creep up in just a short time, quicker, if you fall. Have a plan, and dry clothes in your truck.

See you next week,
Tight lines,
Don
