Weekly Update 07/19/25

Updated: Jul 23

Good afternoon:

Twenty-two on the Zoom call this week.  Not bad after not having a call for the last 5 weeks.  Some questions on the change, answer, not much has changed since my letter but, we are working on a plan and looking for input from our vet and vol base.  In the next 2 weeks, you can look forward to some of the go forward plan which we will share with the group.  No one is catching fish right now except, John Wadsworth, one and Steve Hill, a couple but, no pictures so the reports are a little suspect.

Program Change Announcements!

  • Our official last date of connection with PHW is August 14th, Open issues, pending expense reimbursements, negotiating some return of gear, at their expense (but we should be OK).

  • We have a number of both vets and vols that have shown interest in getting together to discuss our future, fixing what didn’t work and improving what we can.  We will schedule an in-person meeting to discuss in the next 2 weeks.  I also received a few suggestions from a couple of the vets.  If anyone has thoughts, please feel free to share them.

  • We are making progress on getting our own website which is currently in development by one of our vols.  More to follow on that.

  • Yes, we will have apparel, just not yet, we need to finalize an apparel logo first and then start pricing.

There Will Not be a Zoom Call This Week! We will be tying flies at the American Legion Hall

Docs Pond Saturday 8/23/25

This is just a gentle reminder, Saturday, 8/23/25, we will be holding an outing to Doc Shildgen’s Bass Pond in Litchfield, CT for our Project healing Waters Vets participating in our program.  Any vet interested in bringing a family member to this year’s event, please let me know so we can plan accordingly.  If you are interested, please let me know so I can get you on the list.  Float tubes and kayaks work well at this event.  We look forward to seeing you there.
