Weather hasn't been the best for travel but a number of our vets and vols made the trek to the Fly Fishing Show in Marlborough, MA, about a 90 minute drive.
We connected with a few notables, Chris Parisi, the owner of "The Local Fly Shop". Chris will be hosting a fly tying night at his shop on January 26th.
Tim Flagler, world renown fly tyer, has agreed to do a demo on one of our upcoming Zoom coffee hours with the vets.

If you are a vet with a disabilities and think you may be interested in our fly-fishing based program, please reach out using the contact links on our website. If you would like to support us, reach our as well. www.vetshealingonthefly.org.

Next up, Vets Healing on the Fly will be attending and running a couple of tag sale tables at the CFFA Expo. This is a fundraiser for our group so, please stop by and stock up. I spent the day prepping, see the attached pics.
We are a self-funded 501[c]3 so the
CFFA Expo tag sale helps us raise funds.
A baker's dozen of vets and vols got on a coffee hour Zoom call today. If we don't meet in person every week, we touch base on a coffee hour Zoom call.
We had probably 10+/- attend Marlborough, but the discussion morphed to, maybe adding it to the calendar, and coordinating transportation (Carpool or even a bus), transport would open Edison as a possibility as well.
We need to figure out how to make that happen.
Not all business, we had a bunch of jabs flying back and forth, and a lot of laughs. Next week, we are having our first fly-tying evening session, Thursday 6:30 until 8:30. Our hope is we can get more vets involved that are not available during our day fly-tying day.

With the bone chilling temps and heavy snowfall for this weekend, we have time to sit back and tie some flies for a day or 2.
On a side note, Emilio, one of our vols is headed to Argentina tomorrow for a week plus of fly fishing (it's summer there). I told him I'd even carry the luggage if he let me go, no luck.
I'll be back next week. Tight lines and stay safe.
See you next week.
Don
