Doc's Pond 8/23/25 is History

ree

Doc’s Pond, 30 attendees, tons of fish, some new friendships, 78 degrees, clear skies, light wind, great food, and a whole lot of healing going on. What a great day for an outing.  We paid $20 for the weather, and it was just perfect.  Andrew flew in to bring Sonny and act as a companion for Sonny, but Mike had that covered so he ended up as our photographer, as usual and he got a ton of great shots.  Thanks Andrew.

Our gourmet Chefs, John and Art did not disappoint, and Roger’s peppers and onions received “fave” reviews.

We had 2 new vols on this excursion, Jim Crossen, and Doctor Herb’s friend Carl.  We sincerely appreciate their help working with our group and would welcome them back anytime they are available.  And a big thank you to Caiden Crossen who tied some Gartside Gurglers and a few other flies for the vets on this outing.

We have new apparel; at Doc’s we passed out our new VHF tee shirts.  If you didn’t get yours, we will continue to pass them out at our upcoming events.  We are still working on hats and apparel for our vols.  The model on the left is "Bob", a fighting dummy who lives in my basement.

We now have a group page on Facebook called VHF Connect and Cast.  The objective is for MEMBERS (vets and volunteers) of our program to post anything they want can share and plan time on the water, meeting points and times.  This is also a great place to post pictures or get technical assistance on fly tying, rod building or gear.  To take advantage of this resource, you do have to join Facebook, and you do need to be a member of our group.
