In preparation for our upcoming fishing outings, 24 Vets and volunteers attended the VHF casting clinic on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Middletown Parks and Recreation Center gym. The session was led by The French Fly Fisherman and Orvis 2025 Guide of the Year, Antoine Bissieux. We also welcomed a new Vet to the Program, Bill L.
Special shout out and thanks to Electrical Wholesalers Inc. - Central Distribution Center, John Carson and his assistant Lori who provided refreshments for the group. John is also one of the volunteers with VHF.

This was a great opportunity for our Vets to hone in on improving their casting technique and skills as well as introduce some of our newer Vets to fly casting.

Antoine and Steve worked with our newest vet Edwin guiding in in the basics of the cast. In just a few short weeks, we'll have Edwin and a dozen other vets out at Chatfield Hollow state park casting flies that the vets have tied trying for their first fish of the season.
While we are at the park, the 14 vets, and 14 vols, will continue bonding and their trip on through the healing process.

Darin, a vet works with
Dan a vol.
Prior to the mid-April outing, we will hold one more tying session, and then a session teaching knots that they will need on the water.
Looking forward to the spring,
Tight Lines,
Don
